Il Palazzetto Restaurant & Wine Bar has just undergone a major make-over, six years after it opened its doors to the public for the first time, giving it a contemporary look and feel with strong accents of a warm dark Pompeian red, reminiscent of a full-bodied wine of the best vintage. The use of white creates an interesting contrast which reflects a philosophy of innovation yet rediscovers tradition as well as recalling the entire building's neo-classical structure. Mirrors and chandeliers, as well as a retro-illuminated bar, complete this classical yet contemporary jewel in the heart of Rome. Also the menu has changed to reflect the philosphy of the "Italian-style" cocktail hour with a delicious selection of regional wines and snacks. This restaurant and wine bar on the second floor of the 16th-century building overlooking the Spanish Steps therefore becomes a focal point for the glamorous style that says "Made in Italy".
Il Palazzetto Restaurant and the adjacent Wine Bar offer a quiet haven in the middle of Rome's busy city center where clients can savor Chef Vincenzo di Tuoro's elaborate dishes, featuring a surprising balance between innovative style and classic Italian flavours - always using the freshest seasonal ingredients. The second floor offers a dining area with an intimate atmosphere: the Library room with it's rustic charm featuring a wall-to-wall wooden library displaying important eno-gastronomic texts; the Garden, where visitors may dine in the warm weather in relaxed comfort, surrounded by ivy-covered walls and potted plants (Garden can be covered and climate-controlled for private events), and the newly renovated Salon and Wine Bar.
An original menu featuring innovative Italian cuisine combined with elaborate ingredients and a wine list boasting a selection of over 400 labels, make this truly a restaurant to visit time and again. Also, with the expert knowledge of the International Wine Academy close at hand, guests and visitors are bound to come away having experienced a glass or two of great wine at the wine bar or paired with a truly exquisite lunch or dinner at the restaurant.
